Welcome to Jantar Mantar

Jantar Mantar is an astronomical observatory located at the northern exit of the city of Jaipur, in Rajasthan. It is an outdoor exhibition of great astronomical calculus instruments, built by a strange Maharajah, who loved astronomy, Jai Singh II, in the eighteenth century. He made these computational instruments in two copies, one for himself and one for the city of Delhi, which at that time was the capital of the Moghul Empire. The Observatory is made up of about fifteen instruments for measuring time and time, which were able to predict the eclipses of the sun or the moon, to calculate the movement of the planets, our position on earth, or our relative movement compared to the other planets in the solar system.
